Mentoring Program

The main focus of Protegic's Mentoring Program is to maximise the potential of our employees, which commences the moment they join the company. Mentoring is a relationship based process where the employee (mentee) is assigned to a mentor who facilitates their career development within the company. This is a long-term based relationship where the employee should 'fetch' or proactively look for opportunities to grow or learn from the mentor. At the same time, the mentor is committed to listen, encourage, develop, counsel and support their mentee on a regular basis.

Why does Protegic have a Mentoring Program?

  • To maximise the potential of the individual employee, the company and our customers.
  • To provide continuity and consistency whilst maintaining diversity.
  • To demonstrate that our community of passionate project practitioners is part of a proud learning organisation.
  • To have the ability and belief that Protegic exceeds expectations.
  • To facilitate leading edge project management, utilising the latest learning.
  • The opportunity for growth and development (personal and professional).
  • To assist staff to thrive on challenging assignments.
  • To prove we have the best project managers who love learning from the best.
  • Our Management Team recognises that project management can be lonely so mentoring helps overcome this situation by developing and maintaining a strong belonging to Protegic and our customers.

How does Protegic's Mentoring Program operate?

Protegic’s Mentoring Program has two components:

1. Buddy Program:

The Buddy Program assists new employees to integrate into Protegic during their first three months. A buddy is allocated to all new employees to provide guidance and support with the aim to ensure they feel part of our community while working on their new project. The objectives of this program are:
  • To assist the new employees to smoothly integrate into Protegic.
  • To build and develop relationships with key personnel.
  • To assist in understanding the company values and culture
  • To encourage socialisation and creating a sense of belonging
  • To reduce new employee anxiety
2. Mentors:

The Mentor Program is a continuation of the Buddy Program. Its objective is to assign a mentor to the employee during the third month with Protegic. The mentor will help the mentee in setting objectives and career development goals. The mentor would guide and help the employee to achieve these goals and develop new required skills.
